        Our Mission and Vision

Our mission is to empower people to take responsibility for communities, to shape public policy, and to build a legacy of leadership throughout Orange County.

Our vision is to organize communities where families thrive and people are empowered by their faith and knowledge, dedicated to seeking justice, and actively engaged in the civic process.

Our organizing model focuses on building relationships.  Through relationships we hear what families and community leaders are concerned about, identify the priorities in addressing these concerns, and begin to ask if there are some commonalities we can collaborate around.

After extensive listening, we gather together for research meetings.  These meetings are called, and led, by community leaders.  From these meetings particular action steps are established: Speak with a local official about immigration policy in our city; organize a rally with other churches around affordable housing; petition code enforcement for inspections on run-down housing units.  When our action is complete, we reflect.

Our model: 1-1s, research, action, and reflection.
