A Message from our Executive Director.
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
After 13 years with OCCCO and 5 as the Executive Director, the time has come for me to take a different path. I will be stepping down as the Executive Director of OCCCO on February 28, 2013.
I am grateful to OCCCO, the PICO Network, and our local partners for everything that I have learned over the past 13 years. When I began as an organizer, I was fresh out of seminary and desperately in need of some real world experience—and I found that and more in OCCCO. Through this work, my view of the world, of God, and of the incredible potential of human beings has been expanded. I have been challenged and have grown because of the people I have been privileged to work alongside. I will deeply miss all of our Orange County partners I hope that our paths will cross often and in significant ways.
I am still deeply committed and passionate about this movement that we are building in Orange County and the United States and my hope is that I will still be a part of it, but with a different role. My goal will be to work as a consultant and personal/executive coach in ways that support justice, racial reconciliation and the development of people to achieve their highest potential.
In the coming months, Miguel Hernandez will be acting as interim director while the OCCCO board completes their search for a new Executive Director. I have great confidence in his leadership during this time of transition.
