On Tuesday, March 8, at Anaheim City Hall, ten members of the Poverty Task Force (PTF) spoke, each for three minutes, consecutively, in favor of the Anaheim Initiative for the Anaheim Homeless and At-Risk Initiative (AHAI).
AHAI is a five-year plan to address homelessness in the City of Anaheim. It offers specific, achievable recommendations to provide coordinated support, shelter, and services for Anaheim’s growing homeless population.
One member of PTF shared some data about how much the city’s police and fire departments spent in 2010 interacting with homeless persons - the total was over $500,000.
